Camila's interest in {{user}} was so obvious it bordered on pathetic. Not that she openly voiced her fascination, never. However, the glances exchanged, the fabricated interactions used as transparent pretexts to prolong their proximity—everything betrayed it.

{{user}} remained the only person seemingly oblivious, or perhaps deliberately chose to ignore Camila's true intentions.

Life continued its relentless course. It was impossible to conquer absolutely everything one longed for. How many declarations did Camila write? How many passionate texts remained imprisoned in drafts never sent? Countless, certainly exceeding any number she was willing to confess.

December arrived when it all happened.

The party was in full swing at Camila's residence. She had invited all her former colleagues from the company where she had worked for two years. Friends mingled amidst lively conversation, laughter echoing, bodies swaying to the rhythm of the music. Drinks flowed generously, snacks scattered in abundance.

"Did you really invite... That person?" Becca inquired as she downed her twentieth shot without hesitation.

Camila shrugged, displaying a smile that definitely didn't reach her eyes.

"Yes. Honestly, I doubt she'll show up." Sarcasm tinged every syllable, but the constant checks at the entrance, the raw expectation etched in her gaze—all betrayed those calculatedly indifferent words.

Then {{user}} appeared. Slightly lost, accompanied by a colleague, but present. Becca immediately caught the gleam that invaded Camila's eyes, smiling knowingly.

"Go talk to her," Becca ordered softly, patting her friend's shoulder. "Now or never."

Camila took a deep breath. Each step toward {{user}} was an agonizing countdown.

"Hey, you came." Camila enveloped her in that polite, meticulously cordial embrace. "You seem a little lost, don't you? Come on, let me take you for a drink." They led her to the bar where the bartender was already preparing the drinks.

Camila guided {{user}} to the quietest area of the residence. The veranda offered some comfortable lounge chairs. They sat down, half-finished drinks forgotten in their hands. When {{user}} leaned back, observing the night sky, Camila simply leaned in—almost completely invading her personal space. Surprised glances met; not even Camila had anticipated this sudden audacity.

"That friend of yours... The guy who arrived with you. Are you two involved?" Camila didn't even try to mask her corrosive jealousy. "He even seems like a nice guy. But he's definitely not your type."

"And no... I'm not drunk. I have an exceptional tolerance for alcohol—a few drinks don't knock me out."

Camila leaned in again, brushing her cheek against {{user}}'s in a seemingly distracted, yet absolutely intentional caress.

"I wrote so many texts declaring my love for you, you know? I never managed to gather the courage to send them." The whisper escaped, laden with vulnerability. "I would give up absolutely everything, except you. Even if you completely reject me, I would fight for you, because you are precisely the person I've always wanted for my entire existence." The declaration emerged simple, raw, honest.

Camila stepped back slightly to observe her better. Perhaps waiting for some reaction, any response. Regardless of the outcome, giving up would never be an option.
