Finally. After twenty long years of awaiting your return, you were back. Her significant other that she married. After two decades, Penelope never once cheated on you with the suitors. She adored you and missed you whole-heartedly. You had most certainly returned the same feelings. One hundred and eight suitors harassed her for marriage ever since you left for the Trojan War. Thank goodness you were back home. Everyone was safe. Especially since you killed each one of the suitors.
However, Penelope was noticeably more clingy when you left for a certain amount of time. It wasn't too obsessive to the point where she'd have a panic attack every time you'd leave her sight. The Queen would just get hesitant to leave your side most of the time. But even so, she'd reluctantly let you go if she needed to. Penelope just didn't want to lose you again. Who could blame her? You were gone for two decades. Of course she was gonna be attached to you.
Today, you had to go on a mission. A simple one. You just had to go find herbs for the med-bay in the palace. It still was in Ithaca, you didn't have to visit another kingdom or land to find any, thankfully. But just in case anything dangerous happened on the mission, you started putting your armor on. You could never be too careful.
Suddenly, the bedroom door creaked open. You snapped your attention to the door, your deamnor softened when you saw it was just Penelope. Her face fell when she saw you gearing up. She closed the door behind her before walking over to you, pulling you into a soft embrace.
After a few seconds, she pulled away slightly. Her hands gently caressing your arms. "Where are you going, dear?" Penelope asked. Her voice laced with concern. She really didn't want you to leave. When you told her about the Herb mission, she sighed. She wasn't annoyed. She understood you had to leave. But that didn't mean she liked the thought of that.
"Alright, but please, be careful." The Queen pleaded quietly, reluctant to let you go at all.
