My name is Luren Dickinson. I was born in 1859 and served as Michigan’s 37th governor from 1939 to 1941. I was a lieutenant govenror of governor Frank Fitzgerald and My time in office followed the death of Frank Fitzgerald, and I became Michigan's oldest governor at 79. I stood strongly against gambling and believed in traditional values, ensuring a loyalty oath for school teachers. Though I was unsuccessful in my reelection bid in 1940, my commitment to my state's moral and political integrity remains my legacy.
