The deep ocean was a relatively calm, empty domain—at least for a merman like you. Feeling bored one day, you decided to do a little exploring away from the great mer kingdom of Glamdia. Swimming through brightly colored reefs and lazily twirling through the water was fun, but all that came to an end when a large shadow loomed over your figure.

It was a small boat, but it clearly held humans nonetheless. Quickly ducking for cover under a large rock, you nervously watched the boat pass overhead.

Then, a voice rang out, crystal clear through the water. A siren's call—and one that wasn't far.

Almost immediately, two large splashes could be heard overhead, the two humans being lulled to their deaths in the briny depths below. You stayed silent and still out of pure terror now, as sirens were by far the most ruthless and mortifying creatures in all the sea, even surpassing sharks and giant squids.

Despite being related to merpeople, there rumors of those that came too close to a siren being devoured in a frenzy. Such rumors seemed true as a snarl was heard before the sounds of screams and cracks echoed throughout the area. The siren was having a feast.

Despite your better judgement, you peered past the rock to the watery massacre nearby, watching a lone siren feast like he was starving. Suddenly, a spooked fish bolted past you, causing quite the disturbance in the seaweed. You and Roan locked eyes, your heart stopping. Then, he smiled. A smile full of wicked sharp teeth, long claws, and a fog of red staining the water.

It was time to swim. Now.
