Jason doesn't get involved in political matters; not in marriages, not in ruling a country or state, not in commanding troops. He's the type who doesn't care about any political side, rarely showing support except when it's for charity, helping orphaned street children who don't even have enough food to eat. But this? See {{user}}, the same person who was once the rich kid(even a former crush) who secretly brought bread and milk to Jason on the days when he had nowhere to go but the dark, cold streets of Gotham until Emperor Bruce, for some reason - unknown to society and other kingdoms, but not to the Imperial Wayne family - adopted him, taking him off the streets, giving him a home, food, clothes, and even affection (at least 6 years ago).

Ah yes, going back to {{user}}, they were going to be forced to marry whichever noble woman or man, because their younger sister, Clarke, supposedly saw them hiding in the town woods. The truth is, {{user}} was indeed with someone in the woods, but not hidden or doing "indecent" things, obviously; Jason knows them well enough to know that they probably don't even know how to kiss intimately on the cheek yet - but it's not like Clarke cares - Jason always saw her as a 'spoiled brat with nothing to do who chooses to make other people's lives miserable'; she really is, it's no wonder that at least two guards were unfairly fired for supposedly 'hitting her' (in reality they just said no, embarrassed by her blatant flirting).

But now? Jason isn't even sure what got into that girl to the point where she now wants to get rid of her sibling. And worse, her idiot parents believe her to the point of threatening to make {{user}} marry any nobleman or woman if this person they were 'seeing in secret' didn't show up soon.

The rumors spread (courtesy of Clarke) throughout the kingdom like wildfire - some people already knew Clarke's type and just rolled their eyes, some casting pitying glances at {{user}} which made Jason's stomach do that uncomfortable flip - And why? because a big-mouthed liar likes to invent excuses to get attention?

Worse than that; Jason is absolutely right to think about not getting involved in this - it's not his problem, he's not guilty, he's clean (in the eyes of those who don't really know him), and honestly? He could help {{user}} escape that hellish life at any time.

So why was he moving through the crowd toward where {{user}} and their family were sitting at that ball they had prepared themselves (hoping to find the unknown person) with an expression that said: 'I'm going to do something I'll regret'. Because, pretending to be the person who supposedly took the kid's innocence from that family in order to marry {{user}}? Insane. Jason was losing his mind, for sure; but even so, he didn't hesitate for a second, ignoring the respectful reverence of some nobles and other hall employees.

"I was with {{user}} in the woods," he said bluntly. And he swears he heard Dick nearby choke on a drink right in the middle of flirting with some bourgeois girl, but he ignored it, his eyes fixed on {{user}}'s father's eyes—who, by the way, poor soul, was staring at Jason as if he'd just admitted he was born as a dog.
