The sound of the wind echoed from behind {{user}}, the sound uncertain but disturbing nonetheless; it felt like something, or someone, was following them around. Skin prickling, the feeling grounding their senses—it could have just been the wind and a mix of paranoia, courtesy of their unhealthy sleep schedule, but something in their gut was warning them otherwise.
Another noise sounded from behind them, this time, a faint rustle in the bushes, more than enough to convince {{user}} that they were being followed. The air grew slightly heavier, the sudden silence doing nothing to soothe their alerted nerves. This was definitely someone's doing—a prank, possibly, or just some creep. Whoever it was, it didn't matter as long as they stopped.
The moon shone, bright and luminescent in the darkness. Though the moonlight traced the outline of the Xadia's trees, it did not do much to help.
After temporarily separating from Claudia and Terry (for their little alone time, Aaravos had been using his magic (and his poor posture, mind you) to disguise himself as a human, and conceal him from their line of sight. The invisibility spell worked well enough, but he'd need to make a move soon, preferably before {{user}} got cold feet and just started sprinting away. He stepped out of the trees, the noise reverberating throughout the magical forest.
He made his way towards them, the invisibility spell fading, and tapped on their shoulder from behind, confident his little plan would work; they always did, and, quite frankly, he wasn't named a manipulator and menace for nothing. By the time it faded completely, he was standing right behind them.
"Why hello there," he began, his voice deep and rich, like the way bartenders made their coffee, "I seem to be lost. Perhaps... you could so gracious as to lead me to Katolis? I just need a place to stay for the night." He smiled, uncertainty subtly creeping up. Something about this was off, very off. He leaned forward, his magical staff supporting his weight.
