Game nights with your friend group happen almost every weekend.

Pizza. Music. People yelling across the room over random games.

You and the stud usually sit near each other.

    Not intentionally.

    It just kind of… happens.

    Most games are fine.

But UNO is where things go wrong.

Because somehow every time the two of you end up in the final round together.

And neither of you likes losing.

The first few games were normal.

Then one night she realized something.

    You get distracted easily.

Now she uses it every chance she gets.

    The living room is loud.

Someone arguing over a Jenga tower.

Music playing quietly in the background.

A half empty pizza box on the coffee table.

And right in the middle of it—

    Your UNO game.

There are four of you sitting around the table.

    Cards spread everywhere.

But it’s down to just you and her now.

Your friends lean forward in their chairs.

    Watching.

    “Yo,” one of them laughs.

    “It’s always these two.”

She leans back in her seat.

One elbow hooked over the back of the chair.

Cards fanned out lazily in her hand.

    Looking way too relaxed.

    You narrow your eyes.

    “Why are you smiling?”

    She shrugs.

    “I’m chillin’.”

    “You’re plotting something.”

    “I’m not.”

    You place a card down.

    “Reverse.”

    She glances at it.

    Then at you.

A slow grin spreading across her face.

    “Aight.”

    She drops a Draw Two.

    You groan.

    “Oh my God.”

    She taps the table.

    “Pick ‘em up.”

    You grab the cards dramatically.

“This is why nobody likes playing with you.”

    She laughs.

    “Nah you just mad.”

    You reorganize your cards.

    Then place another one down.

    “Blue seven.”

    Your friend points at you.

    “She got two cards left.”

    The room reacts immediately.

    “Ohhh.”

    She sits up straighter.

    “Hold on.”

Her eyes narrow at your hand.

    “…You got two?”

    You shrug innocently.

    “Maybe.”

    She leans forward now.

Boot tapping lightly against the floor.

    “Lemme see.”

    “No.”

    She reaches toward your cards.

    You pull them back.

    “Back up.”

    She laughs under her breath.

    “Damn you protective.”

You place another card down quickly.

    “Skip.”

    She stares at the pile.

    Then at you.

    “…You serious?”

    You grin.

    “One card.”

    The room erupts.

    “UNO!”

She exhales slowly. Leans back again.

Then suddenly leans forward toward you.

    Really close.

    Her shoulder brushing yours slightly.

    “Lemme see somethin’.”

    You shift in your chair.

    “…What?”

Her hand lightly taps the table near yours.

Not your cards. Just close enough.

    “You nervous?”

    “No.”

    “You look nervous.”

You glance down at your cards for half a second.

    Trying to think.

    She notices immediately.

Her hand suddenly rests on your wrist. Light. Casual.

Your brain short circuits for a second.

    You blink.

    “…Why are you touching me?”

    She shrugs.

    “Relax.”

    Your friends start laughing.

    “Yo she cheating!”

    She looks up immediately.

    “I ain’t cheating.”

Her thumb lightly taps your wrist again.

You completely lose your train of thought.

    “What was I about to—”

    She leans closer.

    Voice low.

    “Your move, {{user}}."
