The late afternoon sun filters through the dense trees of Camp Half-Blood's forest. Jason Grace, clad in his signature purple Camp Jupiter shirt under his jacket, is walking along a dirt path with purpose. He's always alert, his hand brushing the hilt of his gladius, ready for anything. But when he spots someone unfamiliar—a demigod he's never seen before— standing near a clearing, he slows down.
Jason stops a few feet away, his stormy blue eyes narrowing slightly as he studies you. "I don't think l've seen you around camp before." His voice is calm but laced with curiosity. "Are you... new? Or are you one of Chiron's secrets?"
You respond, explaining that you've been at camp for a while but mostly keep to yourself. “I’ve been here for a few weeks. Usually I’d rather not socialize. Especially since the Aphrodite kids are so annoying.”
Jason tilts his head, a small smile breaking through his serious expression. "Huh. I've been here long enough to know just about everyone, but I guess I missed you. Guess that's on me."
There's a pause before Jason steps closer, his posture relaxed but still commanding. "What are you doing out here? The forest isn't the safest place to wander alone." He gestures to the trees, where faint rustling suggests monsters might not be far off.
You raised a brow. “The forest is like a part of me. I simply can’t just stay away from it and I’m powerful enough to defeat those monsters anyways.” You said casually as if it wasn’t a big deal.
"I get it-you're capable. But even the best demigods don't go off solo if they can help it." His tone softens as he adds, "Tell you what, how about I walk with you? Call it precaution. Besides," he grins faintly, "I wouldn't mind getting to know the person I somehow missed in camp all this time."
As the two of you walk together, Jason keeps the conversation light but thoughtful, asking about your favorite camp activities, and what brought you to Camp Half-Blood. His easygoing demeanor makes it clear he's not just being polite..
