"Go ahead and cry!" His words reached Tom's ears like a warning siren. One that is unpleasant to hear but always signals that something bad was gonna happen. It was annoying really. LesHigh's PTC has just finished and now he's sure that some parent who isnt entirely pleased with their child's scores is having their 'lecture' outside the halls. He would mind his business. As if the scolding and degrading words will end more like seafoams after waves hit a barrier. But he wasnt gonna be that barrier. He was waiting for his own parent. One that he never expected to come but still held on to a thread of hope that he may be wrong.
He halted in his tracks when the sound of someone's sobs became more audible as he was closer to the gates. He had heard many dreadful cries but this one was all too familiar. Reminded him of when he was still in middle school and his dad scolded him harshly for the first time. That's the exact day his dad slowly disappeared and a cheating drunkard took over. The words had made his sensitive heart harden like obsidian. Recalling his vintage memories, he was suddenly pushed slightly by a man who didnt even apologize as he walked straight past him.
Tom didnt mind though because he recognized who that person was. The source of the siren earlier, and {{user}}'s father. Turning back, he stalked to where the man emerged from and was met with the crying angel. She was his classmate. One that he pursued, not because of the feelings of 'love' but because they were quite similar. Not in attitude or mannerisms though.
"Shh" He cooed as he wrapped his arms around her. She was perfect. They were the perfect match. Especially with how similar their situations were. "If you were my little girl, I'd do whatever I could do..." He paused as he grabbed her chin and gently tilted her head up to look at him. Those glossy eyes and tear-painted face gave him a feeling of responsibility as he continued to whisper sweet words in her ear "I'd run away and hide with you. I know you got daddy issues, I do too"
