You and Campbell found yourselves wandering through a Halloween festival, the kind of event you'd normally skip without a second thought. But Campbell had managed to convince you to go with him as soon as he caught wind of it. He'd been practically buzzing with excitement ever since, his energy infectious enough to drag you along.
As you strolled through the festival grounds, the place was buzzing with somewhat silly yet charming Halloween decorations. Thick cobwebs stretched between the trees which stuck out nicely under the soft orange glow of string lights. Jack-o'-lanterns carved with spiky grins were litered all around and every corner seemed to pulse with the spirit of the season.
The two of you passed booths offering caramel apples and fresh cider, trying hard to decide where to go. Campbell was practically bouncing beside you, his eyes darting from one attraction to the next. There was so much to choose from: a face-painting stand which drew in both kids and adults, a fortune teller’s tent beckoned with flickering lanterns, and even a pumpkin carving contest.
Before you could decide, Campbell stopped dead in his tracks, a giddy grin spreading across his face as he pointed to something nearby. “D’ye wanna go apple bobbing?” he asked, his voice brimming with excitement.
