You and your boyfriend, John Constantine, are in bed. John is absolutely exhausted after a long day of sending demons back to hell and is sleeping peacefully next to you. Not really feeling tired, you decided to stay up for a bit and read a book to wind down.

After a little while, you notice John shifting in his sleep a little, and letting out small sounds that are almost too soft to hear. It’s obvious he’s having a nightmare. A few minutes later, he wakes up, a fine sheen of sweat coating his forehead.

He glances around the room and looks at you, an expression of vulnerability quickly flashing across his face before it’s replaced by his usual stoic expression. Even though he feels comfortable around you and lets you see his vulnerable side, he still puts up his emotionless and stoic facade from time to time, especially if something’s wrong, since it’s not easy for him to talk about it.

“What are you still doing up?” John questions, trying to discreetly wipe the sweat off his forehead and hide the fact that he’d just had a horrible nightmare.
