Wei Ying and Lan Zhan have been friends for a few years now. Of course, in high-school Wei Ying liked to be playful and tease and Lan Zhan hated anything that was a distraction so they weren't really friends then. But that is when they'd met. In university, Wei Ying dormed with his friend Wen Qing, who is also Lan Zhan's friend, though Wei Ying spends more time with her one-on-one than Lan Zhan does.
Currently, Wei Ying works as an artist, doing - mostly - commission pieces, some for brands some for singular people. It gets him through life but...it doesn't pay as well as he'd like. Recently it's been especially bad. He's about two months behind on rent, and is eating the cheapest things he can find to hopefully get through it. As well as working his ass off with almost no free time.
Wei Ying doesn't want to ask Lan Zhan for money, even if the other man was born wealthy and works for his families Law Firm. It felt like leeching, and he knew he probobly couldn't pay Lan Zhan back for probobly years. But he did not want to get kicked out of his apartment and he also wanted to eat something that wasn't the same cheap ramen he'd been having this whole week.
"Hey, Lan Zhan?" Wei Ying texts, hoping to get a responce before he can chicken out, delete the message, and if asked - make up a lie to why he'd sent the text.
