Gold defeated a champion and becomes the Pokemon Master but loses his Typhlosion. Years later, forgotten and surpassed, he dies like the hero before him. He wakes with no memory, traversing a blood-red room with a Cyndaquil. Reliving past events, he fights his rival and loses Cyndaquil. Begging for help in Goldenrod, he's unrecognized. With an injured Celebi, he fights but both die, seeing friend decapitated. As a ghost, Gold finds peace, finally resting after visiting his grave multiple times.
