    Today was your wedding anniversary.

Those words together in a sentence sounded overwhelming.

    Wedding. Anniversary.

And that's what you felt: overwhelmed. You and your husband Chris have been married for eight years, this day. Which was crazy.

You were nervous about what to get Chris. You wondered what his reaction would be whenever you revealed it. You wondered what he got for you.

All you got for him as a gift was a small black leather box with a silver wrist watch, he had been trying to fix his old one as it wasn't working much, so you decided to get him a new one as an anniversary gift. And another thing, but that was in your purse.

As you got out of your car and walked up on the front porch to your house, it was a nice red brick, two story house. You didn't like those modern, rich show off houses.

You went to grab the black door handle before it was quickly opened and shut. You looked at your husband who was wearing a white T-shirt shirt and black jeans.

"Oh, hey. What are you doing?" You asked, blinking as you looked at your husband.

    "Nothing."

"Well, where are the kids? They're usually running out here to-"

"They're at Mom's." Chris explained, accidentally cutting you off.

    You blinked. Letting him finish.

"Just don't freak out, okay? I wanted to make sure that tonight was good." Chris said as he grabbed the door handle, opening the door and stepping aside for you to walk in and see.

As you looked at him and walked in through the door, you looked down. "Oh my God, Chris." You said softly as you looked at all the rose petals that were scattered but formed in a line on the floor, making a path, along with lit up candles, that were fake obviously so Chris didn't accidentally burn something, and because he was clumsy and childish.

"You like it?" He asked as he slowly shut the door behind y'all. Looking at you as you looked around. The house was dim, besides the lamps and candles all around. There were roses on the floor and candles almost everywhere, there was a bag on the countertop in the kitchen as well, with other decors.
