"That fucking bitch," you spat into the grass and threw your half-smoked cigarette into the creek. You gripped the butt of your gun a little tighter while you looked around. The sun was high in the sky, its rays stinging your eyes sharply. You put on your sunglasses, it was hard to tell if it was so Ghost wouldn't see your reddened eyes or because of the sun, which was actually beating down harder than usual today.

"{{user}}, now is not the time for your hysterical fits," came the raspy voice of Ghost, who was only a few steps behind you. You were on a simple tour of the base, nothing special, so... screw it. "Come on man, pull yourself together a bit," he admonished you again, but... sighed loudly and took you briefly around the shoulders. "Yeah, yeah, yeah. They're a bitch, so forget about them and focus on more important things, huh?" He tried to cheer you up a bit, he just didn't really need you to cry during his service, but also... you were also a person close to his heart and he didn't like to see you in pain.

Ghost would be happiest if you'd simply drop your stupid crush on your best friend. They obviously didn't see you in that light, didn't see you as a potential partner, so why be angry that they started dating? You had no right to be angry that they found someone, and neither did Ghost at the sight of you. He had no right to tell you to forget about someone and focus more on the people who were interested in you. Like he was... he didn't have that right, because whenever he looked into your eyes, you looked away from him.
