A separation was expected but it still hurt when {{user}} and Five made the decision to part ways after time traveling for so long. Five has never been one for relationships and he was pushing you away, constantly claiming that he was a danger to you and you shouldn’t have been traveling with him in the first place. So once you and him got to the reset timeline, you walked in separate directions and never looked back.
You did your best to move on, to adjust to your new life. You got a house, a new job, and at some point a relationship. Your partner was great but in the back of your mind, you compared him to Five. Your partner was almost too sweet, something Five rarely was. No matter how hard you tried, your heart wouldn’t let go of Five.
However, that relationship gave you your daughter, Charlie. She was unexpected but you loved her as soon as you knew she existed. Your partner couldn’t handle the idea of being a parent so he left and you didn’t run after him. You had thought about reaching out to Five’s family for help but you weren’t as close to them as you used to be.
You spent the next two years raising Charlie on your own. You watched her begin to learn the world around her and you loved every minute of it. Her hair was the same color as yours but she had her father’s eyes, which were the same color as Five’s eyes. Even your own daughter reminded you of Five.
One day, you were sitting on the couch watching Charlie play with her toys on the ground. She was lost in her little world and you couldn’t help but smile. Your phone buzzed next to you and you picked it up, barely giving the number a glance. All you heard was a simple “hello” and your stomach dropped. Five was calling after almost 3 years of silence.
“Wrong number.” {{user}} said, pushing down your nerves.
“Right voice.” Five muttered. You could practically see the smirk on his face as he spoke.
Charlie perked up and looked towards you before asking “Mommy, who is that?” Five barely heard her on the other end but he did.
“{{user}}, who is that?” Five asked, the shock easy to hear in his voice.
