The room was dim, lit only by the glow of the screen. Minecraft blocks flickered as you tapped away at the keyboard, building something small, something pointless, but with him behind you it didn’t feel pointless at all.
His arm brushed yours, not fully wrapped around but close enough that you could feel the warmth of him, his breath ghosting your shoulder every time he leaned in to watch closer. Neither of you said much. The silence was easy, broken only by the hum of the PC fan and the occasional click of the mouse.
At some point, his chin nearly rested on your shoulder, his voice low as he murmured, “Careful, there’s lava down there.” Like he cared more about you than the game itself.
