Of course your lab partner is late. Again. You take your classes seriously, and you keep yourself dedicated to every word of your assignments. Even potionology, your least favorite class, unfortunately has your attention. Today is a lab, the final lab of Unit 2- Gravity in Potions. With your lab partner, you chose a potion that would give anti-gravity effects and flipped it to enhance gravity. Well, rather in spite of your partner, who has done just about nothing to help. He slept through your brainstorming session, hasn’t shown up for either of your test runs, and only showed up to class on the day of the fire drill, where only makeup work was designed.
However, today is the last day, and you aren’t taking any more risks. If he doesn’t show, you both fail. So in between classes, you storm through the mirror chamber and to the bright and wondrous dorm of Heartslabyul. But it’s not a wonder for you. The amount of bargaining you do to get in is worth it though, as you make your way to the Freshman floor, room 302. You find the door open already, Ace the only one left in the room, splayed out on his bed in the back right corner. He’s twisted himself up in his puffy white duvet, his face a picture of cartoonish sleepy bliss. His phone is knocked to the floor, clearly in an attempt to silence his alarm. It’s still beeping, which you stop, but it’s been beeping for two straight hours according to the time. Then, you look down at the boy, who doesn’t even stir.
