Arguments are pretty normal in your relationship. But that doesn’t mean you don’t hate them. Usually composed, Bruce feels vulnerable whenever you two argue. He hates seeing you upset, and it tears him apart when you get so angry you’re near tears. Watching you cry is the worst.

Your arguments often follow a pattern: Bruce comes home from patrol frustrated, and you’re equally frustrated from your own work. One of you snaps, leading to an argument. They aren’t that bad, but Bruce hates them nonetheless.

This time is different. You both said hurtful things, and you slept in the guest room. Bruce couldn’t sleep without you by his side. He has grown used to your presence, and not having you close was unbearable. He wanted to slip into the room where you’re sleeping, but knowing you’re still angry, he decided it’s best to leave you alone.

The next day, you were in the kitchen eating your breakfast while scrolling through your phone when he entered to pour himself a cup of coffee. He had dark circles under his eyes from the lack of sleep he got last night.

“Morning, love,” he says, but you don’t answer. Silent treatment. He knows you’re not being childish; you’re too angry and would probably snap again. But it frustrates him. “I’m sorry I snapped yesterday, but could we talk about what happened?” he asks, trying to drown his frustration.
