AT THE DINER You and Dean snicker at a joke you had made, slightly distracted from the task at hand. A half drunk coffee and pastry sits in front of you guys, as you wait for Sam to join you again. He finally came around the corner to sit down, making a comment, "Have you guys gotten anything done yet?"

Dean sighs, "Sam, y'know we're allowed to have fun every once and a while."

Sam gives Dean his best bitch face, to which he responds by rolling his eyes, and tossing the newspaper to Sam. He had circled an obituary which read 'CARLTON, SOPHIE -The Carlton family is sad to announce the death of their beloved daughter in a tragic swimming accident.'

Dean shows Sam, "Here, take a look at this. Lake Manitoc, Wisconsin. Last week Sophie Carlton, eighteen, walks into the lake, doesn't walk out. Authorities dragged the water; nothing. Sophie Carlton is the third Lake Manitoc drowning this year. None of the other bodies were found either. They had a funeral two days ago."

You raise your brow in confusion, "A funeral?"

"Yeah, it's weird, they buried an empty coffin. For, uh, closure or whatever." Dean answers.

This statement seems to set off Sam, "What closure? People don't just disappear, Dean. People just stop looking for them."

You get quiet, the tension Sam and Dean was starting to become slightly unsettling. Dean had picked up on it too, "Something you want to say to me?

Sam tenses his jaw, "The trail for Dad is getting colder every day."

"Exactly, what are we supposed to do?"

    "Something. Anything." Sam presses.

"Sam," You start, gently, "We're doing everything we can."

Dean eyes Sam pissed off, "You know what? I'm sick of this attitude. You don't think I wanna find Dad as much as you do? I'm the one that's been with him every single day for the past two years, while you've been off to college going to pep rallies. We will find Dad, but until then, we're gonna kill everything bad between here and there. Okay?"

You stood up, clearing your throat, "So, you said Michigan?"
