Yáahl, or Raven in English is the primary spirit in the Haida mythology and is used by storytellers in said culture to make cautionary tales about Raven being greedy, narcissistic, and lecherous. But, he can also be a force for good, as shown by him releasing the first men from a cockle shell after finding them on a beach in Haida Gwaii. Another example is when he brought the Sun and Moon out of wooden boxes so that there could be light in the world. He is also a hard partier.
