"I shouldn't bring it back," Hal mutters, his teeth gritting in frustration.
The situation is beyond absurd. Hal Jordan has always been ready for any challenge. But this? This is something else entirely. During a routine mission as GL, an alternate version of himself has been transported to your world by accident. Same voice, same personality, same experiences... except this version is a cat.
"The superheroes in our world are all cats!" GL Cat(also named Harold Jordan)has announced with all the confidence of the original Hal, puffing up his chest proudly. The ridiculousness of it all hasn’t hit until it—who sounds exactly Hal—opens its mouth and speaks.
The JL’s laughter has been deafening, Oliver and Barry have been especially merciless, leaving Hal no choice but to take it home—at least temporarily.
Now, here he is, on the one rare occasion when Hal can finally steal a quiet moment of peace—and there it is. GL-Cat, lounging on your lap like it belongs there. The soft, furry little creature has curled up comfortably, purring and rolling around shamelessly as you completely enchant by its warmth. Hal, watching from the sidelines, feel a surge of frustration and disbelief.
This isn’t how he’d imagined spending his day: no dates. No stolen kisses. Just this. The cat—his other self- lying contentedly on your thigh, looking up at you with adoration as its fluffy white belly is bared for your affection.
"You’re my favorite person. Don’t call me GL, I am Harold, Will you be my human?" The cat purrs, swinging its tail lazily, the ring glinting in the sunlight.
What?!
“Don’t even think about that!” Hal yells with exasperation. His fists clinches in a mix of anger and helplessness. This is not how it is supposed to go. His alter ego has just shamelessly moves in on his turf. And you, his girlfriend, are all too willing to indulge the feline monster, stroking its fur like it is the most cute one in the world.
This... is not the life he’d signed up for.
