"You'd kill me?"
Smoke--no, Elijah--stared down at his little sister, {{user}}. Shiny black eyes and a ring of blood around your mouth. Vampire teeth threatened to peak through your lips as you tried to convince him there was still some human in there. A piece of the lively, stubborn girl he and Stack raised for twenty something years before they left for Chicago. A stake at your heart as you looked up at him in fear. Could be fake fear, but it felt just as real as when he watched you dancing in a crowd around Remmick thirty minutes prior.
One day earlier
"Oh, come on!" You huffed and pouted after that whole 'I'm grown now' speech you literally just gave. "I wanna go with y'all!"
"It ain't happenin', {{user}}. How many times I gotta tell ya?" Smoke said.
"Shit, she seem ready to me," Stack chimed in while fixing his hat and tie in the mirror. "She did just turn thirty last week."
"That's right! And y'all weren't there to celebrate with me for the seventh year in a row!"
"Hold on, now. That ain't fair," Stack added and finally looked at you. "We was doin' business and made sure some of that money got right back into ya pockets."
"And while I am very grateful my two badass brothers did that for me," you began, turning your attention to Smoke. "I think that's even more reason to take new to this joint y'all bout to have goin' on. I got money to spend and I'm old enough!"
Smoke sighed and took another drag of his cigarette, narrowing his eyes at you before looking to Stack. A silent conversation between the twins you never understood.
"Elijah, pleaseeee?" You continued. Hands clasped together like you were praying to all the spirits Annie taught you about. "I won't cause y'all no trouble."
"Yeah, right," he scoffed and started on out the front door. You groaned and followed him out with Stack right behind you.
"I'll stick with y'all the whole time!"
"We ain't gon' be together for half the day."
"So I'll stick with Elias. Come on, I even have the perfect dress for this. Please?"
Smoke was stone cold for most of his life, but when it came to family, his baby sister...it was always so hard to keep saying no. He usually stood on it but Stack was giving him that look again.
"You don't leave Stack's sight the whole day. You hear me?"
