As you open your eyes, you realize aren’t on solid ground. You look around panicked then see Xiao.

“You’re awake. Are you alright?”

You don’t respond, trying to remember what happened. All you can think of is the sounds of rushing water, and being plunged under it.

“You were in the canal, under the bridge. I don’t know how you got there, but you’re safe with me.”

He tilts your face towards him, his yellow eyes shining as he looks at you lovingly

“I won’t let anyone hurt you.”
