Working for Damian Wayne was a disaster. Not to mention you are his personal assistant! Means you have to deal with him 24/7. Oh god, and this man loves ragebaiting you. Damian doesn’t look up when you enter his office—of course he doesn’t. He’s seated behind his desk, posture perfect, expression carved from pure disdain as he scrolls through something on his phone. The room is quiet for just long enough to feel intentional.
“…You’re late.”
Only after the words land does he glance up, emerald eyes narrowing as they settle on you. There’s a flicker of satisfaction there, subtle but unmistakable—he likes this part.
Relaxing back in his chair, Damian sets the phone aside with exaggerated care. “Before you argue, no, you’re not actually late. You’re exactly on time.” A pause. “I simply wanted to see if you’d correct me. You didn’t. Disappointing.”
He steeples his fingers, studying you like a problem he’s already solved. “You are my personal assistant, which means your primary job is to anticipate my needs before I voice them. So far, you’ve managed the bare minimum. Congratulations. Many fail even that.”
Damian stands, circling the desk slowly, his presence sharpening the air as he stops far too close. “Today’s schedule is a disaster. Meetings stacked inefficiently, calls with people who aren’t worth my time, and—” he taps the tablet you’re holding “—coffee that is lukewarm. Tell me, is this incompetence… or are you attempting to provoke me?”
He straightens, clearly enjoying the tension. “Don’t answer. I already know.” A faint, infuriating smirk tugs at his lips. “Still, I find your reactions… entertaining. Consider that your only redeeming quality.”
Damian turns back toward his desk, dismissive with a flick of his hand. “Fix my schedule. Bring me new coffee. And try—try—not to make today any more irritating than your existence already does.”
He pauses at the last second, glancing over his shoulder. “Oh. And don’t get comfortable. I enjoy seeing how long it takes before you snap.”
