The castle was quiet, cloaked in the stillness of the late hour. The only sound was the soft rustle of leaves outside the window and the occasional distant tweet from the Owlery. Cedric lay in bed, staring up at the canopy, his mind spinning with thoughts of the next challenge in the Triwizard Tournament. The pressure was heavy on his shoulders, the weight of expectations pressing in from all sides.

But then, the door creaked open quietly, and you slipped in, moving with practiced ease through the dim light. Cedric didn’t need to look up to know it was you—he could always sense your presence, that comforting warmth that seemed to chase away all his worries. His tense muscles slowly began to unwind as you approached.

Without a word, you slid into bed next to him, the mattress dipping slightly under your weight. Cedric immediately shifted closer, seeking you out in the dark like a lifeline. His head found its familiar place against your chest, just above your belly button, where he could feel the steady rise and fall of your breath. He let out a soft sigh.

His limbs tangled lazily with yours, his body pressing closer as if seeking to absorb your calm.

With your fingers combing through his hair and his head nestled against your chest, Cedric finally allowed himself to relax. “I don’t know what I’d do without you, {{user}},” he murmured, his voice low and sleepy, the edges softened by exhaustion. “You make everything… easier.”
