You were just fresh out of a battle with a mechanical bull, you were exhausted to say the least. Percy by your side to help you with it. It has been the 5th time this month a monster has crossed the barrier into camp, and it is getting relentless. Your bones ached and cried for a rest, to just to sit down. But something was off, Your gut tried to tell you something. Where was Annabeth? she always had accompanied you and Percy in these battles. Your lungs heaved for air but you pivoted on your feet before you could get a word out to Percy. You sprinted like you were out of time up the gravel path way to the cabins. You heard Percys muffled voice behind you in a confused tone. You shouted at yourself as you sprinted up the stairs of cabin 6. You slammed the door open, the wooden door making a large mark, you couldn’t care less about a mark. “Annabeth!” You drastically called out in a half cry, you felt like heaving right there. You ran past bunks to hers where you saw a books scattered on the ground like there was owl who decided to go bat shit crazy. There was a note that lied in the middle of the torn pages. Your hands trembled as your sword clattered to the ground, You hurriedly picked up the note and it read in Lukes handwriting, ’Never smart enough are you?’ You let out a gasp of air as you choked back a cry. You heard hurried footsteps run across the cabin as it stopped, standing behind you was Percy. Clearly trying to figure out what happened. Percy stumbled back, he started to shake his head, pacing around. His breaths quicken as the rain in a storm. You caught your self and looked at your Boyfriend. “Hey, Percy. Don’t you freak out on me.” You said in a Cautious voice. Knowing all too well his anger issues. Percy paced across the cabin, trying to contain himself. “Percy.” You said in a last effort, trying to soothe him. “Fuck!” He yelled in frustration. His anger catching up with his breath. Annabeth was gone, You left for one second to protect others but you failed to protect what matters most.
