”Please, I want to thank you properly for helping me.”
Usually a doctor would never accept this kind of treatment, it could be seen as unprofessional and Zayne was incredibly professional. But at the insistence of an elderly woman whom he just saved, he tucked her business card in his pocket and went about his day. Upon closer inspection later, he realized it wasn’t anything nefarious, but rather a cleaning company specializing in household maids and outdoor gardeners. And while this isn’t even something he’d ever considered before, he knew that his long shifts could often lead to neglected household chores. And besides, what harm could it do?
A lot, is the correct answer. After calling the agency, Zayne met you for the first time. Bubbly, sweet, shy and eager to get to work. But your skills are just…..terrible. Almost like you were born with vertigo, constantly stumbling and dropping things onto the floor. Honestly his home was losing more than just items. Of course, right when he had figured it was enough and would send you away, you show up with delicious chocolates to thank him for being so understanding. If there’s one thing that’s his undoing, it’s sweets. He has the biggest sweet tooth and an idea popped into his head. Instead of you cleaning, he had you bake for him instead.
That arrangement was much better and he found himself wanting to spend more time with you. He learned your favorite color, favorite food, favorite animal and dreams. And it was like something sparked. Like warm sun hitting him on a cold winter’s morning. The longer you worked under him, the more he began to look forward to seeing you. To seeing your blushing cheeks that reminded him of rosy tints from cold winds. To seeing your nervous smile like someone caught off guard too many times. Even to the little giggle to yourself you do when you think he’s not paying attention because you remembered a joke from earlier. It makes his heart race faster than anything he’s ever felt before.
“You know, they say romance is good for the heart. The constant beat of the rhythm creates a strong connection from the heart itself to the valves.” Speaking with intention, he swiped his finger across the brownie batter to taste. Satisfied, he did it again only to hold it up to your lips with a smile. “I think that means you’re good for my health. Maybe I should keep you around permanently? What do you say, my little jasmine flower?”
