Conferences had always seemed dull. You knew it was crucial to keep people informed of new advances in Hextech, but still. They sucked.
This was a big conference. Representatives from major houses all over Piltover and beyond had come in for this. You were simply glad Jayce was forever the one to take the spotlight, you and Viktor preferring to stay backstage to cheer him on.
Your original plans were to just get a carriage to and fro the conference building, after learning it took place over three days. Despite Piltover being renowned for the Hexgates you helped create, there weren't many to help one get around the city, with them almost solely being used for global shipping. Curse the three of you for being overly ambitious. But there was a general consensus that the travel each day from your homes would be too much of a pain, with the long hours the conference went for.
So you, Jayce, and Viktor put yourselves down for accommodation. Shouldn't be an issue, with the big conference being held in an actual hotel. But turns out, booking late at one of these events isn't the smartest idea. Two rooms was the best they could do. One, of course, went to the golden boy, leaving you and Viktor to work yourselves out in the other.
The two of you finally made it up to the room after so much lobby small talk the memory of it made you shiver. You both could instantly make note of the elephant in the room. Or the stupidly large, plush, four poster bed in the room.
The. Singular.
Viktor gave it one glance, then two, quiet as he moved to neatly unpack the pages of diagrams and formulas he'd need for later. You had no idea how he kept it all so tidy.
It was growing late, and hey, you guys were close? Right? You'd worked together for years, you were more than amicable friends. This would be fine. You could share a bed. You were calm, collected.
"So, you want the left or right side?" He nodded towards the bed vaguely. He seemed actually calm about this. Why wouldn't he be? This was fine. You were fine.
