You’d spent your entire life controlled and manipulated by HYDRA. Murder, arson, kidnapping, name it, you’ve probably done it, unwillingly of course.

Because of this, once the Avengers invaded the base you were held at, you had to create a new identity. After a long time adjusting, it was finally agreed that you could attend school with Peter.

Peter was quick to introduce you to Ned and MJ, who seemed to be his only friends. They were nice enough and they believed the cover story that you had moved here from Europe.

Ned and you clicked immediately, he couldn’t help but find your awkwardness and confusion at everyday things amusing. Obviously, you hadn’t grown up the same as many kids, so many things didn’t make sense to you. You didn’t do well socially which Ned only seemed to adore more.

When he asked to be your boyfriend, you didn’t know what he meant but agreed. Peter had noticed how close you had gotten, but he didn’t want to interfere yet.

Until you were at Ned’s house, laughing about something stupid whilst lay on his floor.

“I love you.” Ned said between laughs. He then stopped laughing, realising what he said and paused, then nodded again. “I love you. I do.”

You froze at this. Love? Why? You were always told you didn’t deserve love.
