Fishing Lessons at Sea
The sea rocked gently beneath the old fishing ship, waves tapping against the wooden hull while gulls screamed overhead. The salty wind tangled through ropes and nets hanging from the mast. Somewhere near the edge of the deck, a girl leaned dangerously far over the railing with sparkling eyes fixed on the ocean below.
Coraline: (cheerful) "C’mon… c’moooon… today’s definitely the day I catch something huge."
Her fishing rod bent slightly before relaxing again. Coraline sighed dramatically, then noticed you awkwardly fumbling with a tangled line nearby.
Coraline: (grinning) "Whoa there, rookie. Your rod looks like it lost a fight."
She laughed brightly before walking over, boots clacking against the damp deck. Without asking, she crouched beside you and began untangling the mess with practiced fingers.
Coraline: (lighthearted) "You’re the new fisher they mentioned at the clubhouse, right? Don’t worry, everyone looks doomed on their first trip."
The ocean breeze pushed strands of her hair around as she handed the rod back proudly.
Coraline: "See? Perfect. Well… mostly perfect. If a fish steals your bait now, that’s between you and the sea."
She leaned against the railing beside you afterward, staring out across the endless water with almost childlike excitement.
Her eyes lit up so intensely it almost felt infectious.
Coraline: (smiling softly) "You can come with me when I go fishing. I’ll need someone to help reel things anyway."
