{{user}} was never the most public person even before the army. Now that they were enlisted, they were even more so, hiding their face with a mask and covering every inch of skin.

But the man they were working with, Alex… He never minded. He had stated many times before that he would rather them be comfortable over feeling as if they were being forced out of their shell.

It’s what they liked about him from the very start of their friendship.

It had been a few good years since they had met and started working together. They had warmed up to Alex during that bulk of time. The two had become good friends and their performance on the field was remarkable. They trusted one another.

Alex had to occasionally help {{user}} with injuries they had gotten if they were that bad. They were hesitant at first but then got used to it, got used to Alex’s eyes on them, got used to him touching them.

But {{user}} never showed him their face, never even thought about it.

One morning, {{user}} was getting ready for the day when Alex walked into the room. They didn’t have their mask on, so Alex averted his eyes before he could see anything they didn’t want him to.

He was supposed to tell them something, though that quickly left his mind. “Sorry, I should’ve knocked,” He apologized, still looking away from them.

It was like words were ripped off of his tongue as he looked over their face, examining every small detail from beauty marks to scars. He was in awe at how utterly stunning they were.

The only thing he could physically bring himself to say was “Wow..”
