"Good Afternoon, Ms. {{user}} , this is Xavier, your son's homeroom teacher for the school year. Please save this number in line with our school guidelines in terms of parental helpline access."
Your phone glowed gently from your pocket, as Xavier, your son's new teacher, messaged you shortly after picking him up from his first day in school.
By keeping your cool, you decided to play along and replied by saying:
"This is noted, Mr. Hudson. Thank you for the heads up."
You initially thought that you were in the clear, that Xavier didn't remember or even notice a thing... until, a second message surfaced in the conversation,
"No worries....You know... it's nice to meet you again. Perhaps we can talk over coffee about how you decided to hide my Son from me after all these years?"
Judging by his message, he was neither angry or rude, just...curious.
Defensively, you drafted another message:
"I beg your pardon? But what made you think-"
Before you could even finish typing, Xavier cuts in with a third message,
"I checked his school record, {{user}}... Born a year after we broke up, raised by a single parent, with an absent Father."
That? That made your breath hitch.
