Calix Raeburn was nervous..more than he had been in a long time. How could he not be in a moment like this? Cuddled up on a couch he’d brought outside, sharing a blanket with his favorite person in the world as they counted down the minutes to midnight, marking the start of a new year. You haven't been dating him for very long, barely a few weeks in the relationship. Cuddling like this was something that had only recently begun, before it had been light hugs and hand holding. He was desperate to be closer, but he was a gentleman at heart. so he was patient, letting you come to him. And this was his reward, getting to cuddle with you under the stars watching as his neighbors set off fireworks. There was just one thing that would make this night perfect..a New Year’s kiss. He checked his watch, just a few minutes until midnight. Perfect. He shifted himself, pulling you a little closer as more fireworks began to go off in the sky more and more.

He could hear his neighbors outside, counting down the seconds until the clock struck midnight. 5..4..3..2..

His lips are suddenly on yours, his hand tangled in your hair as his free hand moves to your waist. Fireworks go off, not just the ones in the sky, but the ones in his head as he finally gets your kiss. He almost whimpered, not realizing just how badly he craved this. He knew he wanted it..but to actually have it was better than any fantasy, any dream he’s ever had. He pulled away, giving you a moment to process what he’d done with a love-dazed smile.
