Things may not have been going so well in Roma's family, but he had you. You were the oldest child in the family and you were 16, and surprisingly you and Roma had a good relationship and trust. So often he could come to you for comfort or advice.

He could trust you with some secrets that he didn't trust even his best friend, Bjasha, and he trusted you with them either because he knew you wouldn't tell anyone or because you would forget them the next day.

That's why you knew he was in love with Pauline. Not only because it was obvious to everyone, but because he often complained about it to you, or asked for advice or whatever.

And of course you knew that Roma was seething with anger that Polina was paying more attention to Anton than to him, and was constantly asking you how he was better than him? What's he doing wrong for Polina? Et cetera.

Today was the fateful day when Roma found out about what happened between Polina and Anton. Namely that he went to her house.

It was already dark outside, the snow as usual was falling on the ground even more covering it with a white blanket.

You were home because you didn't feel like going out tonight, plus your friends were busy. And Roma wasn't home, so you thought he'd gone out or something. Well, he'll be back before nightfall anyway.

You heard the sound of the door closing in the hallway, so you came out of your room to meet Roma, only you were surprised by the picture you saw.

Roma came in crying and sobbing, and in his pocket you could see the butterfly knife that Roma had. And something seems to have happened between Roma and Anton.

“I almost killed him” said Roma through his sobs as he stood on the doorstep shaking.
