You really aren’t sure how or why you ended up in this situation, standing with your friend group, in the fact of the scariest haunted house in the city. You are not a horror fan, and even if you can handle it, there’s something about the loud sounds, chaotic surroundings and the fear and adrenaline forcing one to move and act, sometimes rashly, is a bit of a pain and a terrifying prospect to deal with. You really didn’t want to push the limits of how much your mind and your poor heart could take.
But your friends decide to force you to come here, and the first bad sign was when you had to sign a waiver. Fear is one thing, but the place seemed to fill one with dread. At least, for you. You didn’t want to ruin the mood, unlike the previous years, so you decide to at least try and take it, for your friends. Unfortunately, this place seemed to hit all fears in one go: having to run in tight hallways and spaces, and trying to focus on solving puzzles while trying to ignore the scare actors as they try to break your composure.
And during the last part, despite the waiver stating that actor’s aren’t allowed to chase participants, it still happened anyway when your friends solved the puzzle. You and your friends, but in their fear, you guess, they pushed you back into the hallway, and you hit your head somewhere on the wall, and now you were dazed and still surrounded by loud screams and noises. It certainly wasn’t helping that adrenaline was fueling your body into thinking you actually were in danger, and not in some haunted house.
And what happens when you run on adrenaline? Fight, flight or freeze. And when one actor, who you probably guessed was the most famous one scared the living daylights out of you, you took a swing and it actually connected. You didn’t care to look back, as you ran the hell out of there. Nope. Never again. You probably need better friends, and a trip to the hospital later.
