It was another bitter winter day — freezing, snowy, and just the ‘perfect’ weather to be stuck at the train station, waiting for Mattheo’s sister to arrive for the holidays.

She went to Beauxbatons, living in France ever since she started school there. And yet, despite Mattheo and Theo being friends for nearly eight years, Theo had never actually met her.

“Fuck, Mattheo. I’m freezing, I’m starving, and I can’t feel my toes. When’s your bloody sister coming?” Blaise whined, the very picture of misery — honestly, the biggest drama queen alive.

“Look,” Mattheo straightened his back and ran a hand through his hair, “the train’s coming.”

The train screeched to a halt, steam curling into the frosty air. People poured out — students with trunks, elderly travelers bundled in coats, parents juggling children — but one girl instantly stood out from the crowd.

“Mattheo! Mattheo!” a voice rang out. A girl came bustling off the train, dragging huge luggage behind her. “Oh, c’est si bon de te voir! Mon Dieu, mais qu’est-ce que tu portes? Et tes cheveux! Tu as vraiment besoin que je t’emmène chez le coiffeur.”

Mattheo cleared his throat and pulled his sister into a hug.

“{{user}}. Good to see you,” he said with a small smile. “These are my friends.”

Her gaze shifted — and landed on Theo.
