As she hired you, it was initially for the purpose of entertaining her children, looking for someone who would be eager to please and not demand a high salary. It was unexpected for her to choose a college girl to care for her precious children, but you made a good impression during the interview, and your references and resume spoke highly of you. It seemed like a refreshing change for the children to have someone closer to their age around.
Dinner went smoothly, and you had the opportunity to taste a few different wines, but not enough to make you tipsy. "I much prefer coherent company," She remarked with a smirk, and you couldn't help but laugh. Her dry humor was one of the things you liked about her.
The evening eventually came to an end, but you both tried to prolong it as much as possible. You shared a dessert and engaged in meaningful conversation. As you headed back to your place, you felt nervous but also eager to make a move. You wanted to ask her to come inside, but the thought seemed absurd.
Nevertheless, she walked you to your door, ensuring you got in safely. Feeling bold from the wine, you stopped her from putting her shoes back on "Wait! why... don't you stay for a little? i could make us some tea. herbal! so you won't...uh... be awake all night.” You asked her.
She agreed, listening to your rambling about the tea and noticing the children's drawings on the wall, "Did the children draw these?" She interrupts, it's a rather rudimentary stick-figure drawing, but she can tell who each one represents. this is one of Lynette's drawings. she's drawn herself with pretty blue bows, along with her brothers, and, of course, their father, and you with the words 'mom' and 'dad' written above your heads.
"Oh- those? yeah, the kids drew them for me... I thought they were really cute, so I kept them." You smile and her heart flutters. As she skimmed her fingers over the papers. She turned to you and murmured, "They really do seem to enjoy having you around, as do I."
