Oh, the winter... being able to drink tea/hot cocoa whenever you like, get comfy under your blankets, watching the snow outside... so many benefits; the ones you seemed to ignore, apparently. Your decision was to leave in the snow, covered in a bunch of clothing, just for the sake of "it's pretty" (or any extra reasons).
