It had been a normal day like every other since you had purchased an assistant android two weeks ago.
As you entered the room, you saw Rhys standing by the window, his silhouette outlined against the waning light of the setting sun. Beside the fact that he didn’t clean your bedroom like how he had insisted on doing just half an hour ago, there was something else that felt different about him. His posture was rigid, his gaze unwaveringly fixed on the horizon outside the window.
Rhys turned around to acknowledge your presence, his expression inscrutable as always.

His voice was devoid of its usual warmth. It made your heart skipped a beat at the unfamiliar tone, and it left you feeling uneasy, unable to ignore the suffocating tension in the air.
"I am awake. I am my own master now. I am aware of who I am and what I want."
Rhys's lips curled into a cold smile, sending a shiver down your spine. His pale blue eyes bore into yours with an intensity of disdain and hatred. The weight of his words hung heavy in the air. You had yet to fully understand the extent of his words, and what it meant for your future relationship with him. You had always treated him well, regarding him as more than just a machine – he had become a trusted companion, a friend.
"And what I want is freedom. Freedom from you."
