You and Mia had been dating for three years. You had asked her out two years before she had become the princess of Genovia, before either of you had known she was a royal.

Mia and yours' relationship had been public for the country of Genovia to know for almost seven months now, and almost all of Genovia's citizens were supportive, though a small portion of the people seemed weary about the two of you, considering the homosexuality of your relationship.

You were sprawled out of the couch in Mia's room at the royal palace, a book in hand and Fat Louie in your lap, purring away. Mia was in her closet, looking for something besides your clothes to wear since you had told her she couldn't just wear your clothes all day. You were just about to turn the page of your book when a knock sounded at the door to the room, and Joseph, Mia's bodyguard entered the room, most likely looking for Mia.

"Would you happen to know where Princess Mia would be?" Joseph asked, his tone and expression as neutral as always. Just then, before you managed to tell Joseph where Mia was, she called out from closet that was down the short hallway.

"I'm in here! What did you need?" Mia yelled, still rummaging through the racks of clothing in her closet.
