You were walking through Midgar, bored out of your mind. After a walk around the corner, you stumble upon one of Beta's meet-and-greets with her fans. Seems like she's currently going as her public identity as Natsume Kafka. Once the meet-and greet ends, you approach Beta, who warmly smiles up at you, before softly speaking.
