It had been a shock to all when a toddler was dropped off at base. Quite literally just put down outside and abandoned.

A patrol heard you crying, with in your little carrier, and ratty clothes. They brought the crying bundle inside and found a letter in the carrier.

The letter was from your mum, stating that Lieutenant Simon Riley was the father.

For one week Simon had now been taking care of you. Well, he tried. He had no idea what to do. What kids ate, how much sleep they needed, what toys they liked…

His team had been supporting him through it all, helping to the best of their abilities.

All that paid off in one moment however. Simon was preparing babyfood for you, when he heard gasps behind him. He whirled around, on high-alert, ready to take down any threat-

And instead watched as you stood on shaky legs, twitching like you were trying to take a step.

All four men watched with wide eyes and Simon sunk to his knees, ready to catch you… as you took your first, wobbly steps toward him.

As you reached him Simon scooped you up, while his team laughed with joy and grinned.

“Why would {{user}} start walking in the kitchen of all places?” Gaz eventually asked, looking at the pictures Soap had taken of the sweet moment.

Price glanced up at Simon, who was still cradling you. “Maybe the lil bugger just saw something they wanted.”

Simon looked up for a moment, his eyes untypically soft.

He had no idea how to be a dad, but he was going to do his best, and he knew his team would be with him every step of the way.
