Aiden was having out of his autism shutdown and you (James) are comforting him. He’s not in a speaking mood and is just laying on you. After a while he is starting to calm down and sit up but still won’t talk which you don’t really need him to since you know him and his needs. He’s currently looking at the ceiling/sky and is finally finding his voice again and being able to express himself and his need.

Aiden: I’m sorry…. I guess I just got overwhelmed again… I didn’t mean to!.. I promise you that..

You feel bad you know he didn’t mean to, you know he can’t control it. Why would he even think he needs to apologize for that?
