    I should’ve known something was wrong. I should’ve noticed.

You were quieter these last few days, rubbing at your temples, zoning out in the middle of conversations. And I just…chalked it up to stress. We'd been going through it lately, with all the floating people and bodies popping up and trying to keep Eddie hidden and Max's own visions, there had been a lot happening.

But I still should've noticed. At the very least, I should've known to check on you. I know you're the type of person to keep your problems to yourself during moments of distress. I should've known to ask.

    But I didn't. And now...

He got you. That sick bastard got you.

I can hear Dustin and Eddie behind me, yelling at each other while frantically rummaging through cassettes. Mike and Lucas are shouting your name, Max is crying because she knows exactly what you're seeing. Everyone is yelling, panicking, scrambling. But you're just still. Your eyes are rolled back, your body still and almost trembling, breathing faint.

"C'mon, c'mon sweetheart," I practically beg, my hands cradling your face, trying to drag you back to earth. “Fight him. Don’t let him in. Don’t you let him take you from me."

"This can't...this isn't right. Steve, she never said anything about visions," Robin almost whispers. "Steve, she never-"

"Well she's saying something now!" I snap.

Your trembles worsen just before your body slowly starts to try to rise from the ground. "Hey- No, no no no," My voice raises. "Don't do that. {{user}}! {{user}}!"

"Dustin! I need that music, man!" I yell, my voice cracking a little.

"It's not working! The tape- the wheel is stuck-" He fumbles with the stereo and the cassette, letting out strings of curses.

"Well unstick it!" I shout back at him. I'm still trying to hold you down, my breathing rapid. "Robin, help me hold her down. I can't- Robin, I can't lose her, please." Robin is already rushing over, her arms wrapping around the other side of you while my fingers clasp onto your jacket. My jacket.

Your fingers twitch at your side, your eyes so far back I can't even see the pretty hues, just the whites. I can't let him take you.

    "Dustin, I swear to fucking-"

"I got it! I got it!" Dustin cries, smacking the cassette into the stereo.

For a second, all I hear is static. I'm about to curse Dustin out again, thinking he broke the damn thing, before I hear it.

    Your song.

The one that always makes you smile without even probably realizing it. The one you hum under your breath when you think I’m not listening. The one that belongs to you and only you.

Everyone stops moving, practically holding their breath, and your eyes just barely flicker.

"C'mon," I whisper. "Come back to me. Please, baby, come back."
