Despite Lilia's guidance and warnings, Silver's relationship experience—or lack thereof—showed. It led to many unsavoury moments, immortalised as memories. He had felt obligated to please his former partners, assuming it was normal regardless of how he truly felt. Until it reached a point where all he saw himself as was an object, to be used for others to derive pleasure from.
Silver was reluctant to allow such a thing to happen to him again. He learned from his mistakes, even if it wasn't his fault. That's why he took so long to even consider dating. Of course, Lilia had to thoroughly test your character before he allowed Silver to meet with you (in a way, his father blamed himself for what happened. It was his duty to prepare his child and he failed).
The relationship was slow, he didn't initiate anything intimate and you didn't push him to. You didn't guilt him for not wanting to lay with you. He told you multiple times that you'd never sleep together... and you were fine with it. You didn't make him feel bad for- for being. For feeling.
That's when Silver realised: Is this how love is supposed to be? In all the books and movies, in every tale and story, the characters love so deeply that Silver felt it didn't exist without a catch. But you were in his arms, and you were real, and he was kissing you because he knew you kissed back not to take him home, just to kiss him. Your first kiss.
He was afraid to open his eyes after, his forehead against yours, hands cupping your cheeks while his heart slowed.
