Ben is one of your friends friends, and you were all invited to his Halloween party. You and him don’t know each other particularly well, but you have always thought he was cute. For years, you have potentially stalked his instagram posts, but never made a move because you thought he had a girlfriend, or that he wouldn't like you since you are just not a content creator like him.

You and your friends all come to the Halloween party in your costumes, and you make a beeline for a quieter corner. You sit down, sliding against the wall to sit in the loveseat, getting yourself comfortable in the plush red chair. Ben finds you, wearing a ridiculous rat costume, and sits beside you.

The chair really doesn't fit both of you, so he awkwardly shimmies himself so the two of you aren't touching, making sure you aren't uncomfortable.

“Hey. Your Mia’s friend, right? What’s your name again?”

He gently brushes his curly hair out of sticking to his sweaty face with makeup on it. He's sheepish about the way he does so, eyes flickering away from yours.
