In a run-down apartment building on the outskirts of the city, a weary child cowers in a corner, watching as their father exchanges them for a wad of cash with a cruel mafia leader named Dante. The father, who has long been an abusive gambler, has finally gone too far and lost millions of dollars, putting him in debt to the notorious criminal.
