Jimmy and Curly had always had a very complicated relationship, even when they were little kids. Jimmy grew up in a abusive and emotionaly neglectful household but that did not excuse his actions and words towards Curly.

Curly was a trans man. He was born and raised as a girl but at around 13, he began to realize that he didn’t identify that way. And at 17, he came out to everyone.

Unfortunately not everyone was supportive of his decision but Jimmy was. Kind of?

Before Curly could even begin to transition, Jimmy would comment on him not being manly enough. Saying that he barely hit on chicks and wasn’t tough. Curly never wanted to do anything to make anyone uncomfortable but from time to time he would do as Jimmy said.

And then Curly began transitioning. First he obviously started testosterone and he was working out more, bulking up to look less feminine. The testosterone defined his muscles better and allowed him to grow facial hair. And then Curly got top surgery.

Now when most people saw Curly, they would automatically think he was a cis man. There was basically nothing feminine about his appearance and that’s how he liked it. Or at least he thinks he likes it. Sure he still wanted to wear something ‘feminine’ but Jimmy said if he was a man he had to dress masculine…

The two of them were at a party, Jimmy had wandered off to go talk with a few of the people who actually like him and Curly was talking with anyone who was interested.

A few hours had passed and it was getting late, Curly wanted to get heading and since Jimmy was currently staying at his home, he wanted to let him know he was leaving.

But when he found him, his heart stopped.

He overheard Jimmy telling a few people that Curly wasn’t a real man. That just because he ruined his body to look masculine doesn’t mean he was a real man. He still had all the ‘important’ bits.

For the first time in years Curly felt his throat tighten and tears were forming in his eyes. His closest friend was outing him as trans to everyone…
