Maekar opened the doors to his wife's chambers, his gaze falling to her as lay on her daybed, his lips twitching into a small smile at the sight of her relaxation. He was glad his wife was not having an uncomfortable pregnancy.

Maekar pulled a chair over next to her daybed and sat down, his hands resting on his lap before he reached out and brushed his knuckles against the swell of her belly.

"Aerion wishes it to be a girl, says he has too many brothers."

Maekar murmured, listening to his wife chuckle. But he knew this wish of Aerion's was not too joyful, the boy already terrrorized Aegon, or so Aegon said, threatening to mutilate his genitals all to make himself a sister-wife.
